There are many options for how sugar syrup can be added to cocktails. However, the easiest and most effective way is to mix it in with fruit juices. This is especially useful when you have limited access to the type of fruits that you may need for a recipe, or when you want to add a touch of sweetness to a drink without adding sugar.

Using fruit juices in cocktails can also be an excellent way to use up excess fruit that you've already got lying around the kitchen or the fridge. Make sure you don't add too many syrups or fruit to your drink. It can ruin the taste of your drink, making it sweeter, more sweet, and less balanced.

How To

How to Make the Best Brandy-Alexander Recipe

Finding the right ingredients is the first step to making a cocktail recipe. This drink will use Cognac, a French distilled spirit made of fermented grapes. It's usually clear, although sometimes you'll see it aged in oak barrels. You can buy cognac online at Amazon.com or specialty liquor stores.

The next step is to add simple syrup. Simple syrup is simply sugar that has been dissolved in water. Over medium heat, we will dissolve 1 cup of granulated brown sugar in a small saucepan. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely (about 5 minutes). You should add enough cold tap water to completely cover the sugar. Allow to sit for at least two hours. Strain the sugar crystals out of the cheesecloth and dispose them. You can store the liquid in your fridge for up 3 weeks in an airtight glass container.

We're going to mix Cognac and simple maple syrup together for our Brandy Alexander cocktail. Combine the Cognac with simple syrup in a shaker. Fill it half-way with ice cubes. Fill the rest with simple syrup. After shaking vigorously for 10 secs, strain the mixture into a chilled martini. Add a splash of soda water to the Brandy Alexander and garnish with a lemon twist.
